David J. Friedman

David J. Friedman is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in technology law and corporate counsel. Currently serving as Senior Corporate Counsel at Rackspace Technology since July 2020, Friedman provides transactional guidance for a leader in public cloud managed services. As Technology Counsel for Technology Law Consulting since 2019, focus has been on emerging data privacy and security laws along with contract negotiation. In 2019, Friedman founded PrivacyTechNY to foster a professional network aimed at best practices in privacy management. Prior roles include IT Contract Management at NYU Langone Health, where negotiation of complex technology contracts took place, and serving as Technology Counsel at Thomson Reuters, where Friedman co-founded the in-house "Technology Legal" group. Early experiences include civil litigation with a focus on commercial contracts and various legal areas at Holstad & Knaak, PLC. Friedman holds a JD from Mitchell Hamline School of Law and a B.S. in Finance & Business Management from Brooklyn College.
