Tom Sands possesses over 20 years of extensive experience in networking and telecommunications, primarily with Rackspace Technology, where roles have included Sr. Director of Networking and Principal Architect. Responsibilities encompass overseeing technical direction and strategy for global networking teams, conducting root cause analysis for outages, managing a significant budget for third-party hardware, and leading network operations across multiple departments and locations. Tom has been instrumental in integrating networks post-acquisition, developing network solutions for enterprise customers, and creating policies for change and incident management. Their technical expertise is backed by a Cisco CCIE certification and leadership roles in multiple high-stakes projects within the industry. Prior to Rackspace, positions were held at Trident Data Systems and the US Air Force, focused on network administration and system support.
