Josh Hooker

Senior Physicist at Rad Source Technologies

Josh Hooker, Ph.D., is a Senior Physicist at Rad Source Technologies since November 2020, where expertise in radiation physics is applied. Previously, in a postdoctoral role at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, from January 2019 to November 2020, Josh Hooker designed and built an ionization chamber, utilizing Geant4 for simulations to optimize experimental parameters. As a Graduate Research Assistant at Texas A&M University from August 2013 to January 2019, Josh Hooker developed fast and thermal neutron detectors and implemented wavelet analysis for enhanced pulse shape discrimination. Alongside research, teaching experience includes serving as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for freshman physics courses. Josh Hooker holds multiple degrees in Physics, including a Ph.D. and two Master’s degrees from Texas A&M University, along with a Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University-Commerce.
