Zhen Sun has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. They began their career as an Application Analyst I at Children's Hospital of Michigan in 2009, where they developed a workflow for analyzing exome sequencing data and created parallel processing programs and web services for detecting de novo mutations. In 2011, they moved on to Duke University as a Research Analyst II, where they developed and improved a next-gen sequencing pipeline for whole exome and whole genome sequencing using programming languages and bioinformatics tools. They then joined Henry Ford Health in 2014 as a Radiation Oncology Programmer, a role they held until 2022. Currently, Zhen Sun is working as a Software Engineer at Radformation, starting in 2022.
Zhen Sun obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Shenyang Ligong University, where they studied from 2002 to 2006. Zhen then pursued further education at Wayne State University, obtaining a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from 2007 to 2009.
In addition to their formal education, Zhen Sun has also obtained several certifications. In 2018, they completed a series of courses offered by Coursera, including "Deep Learning Specialization," "Sequence Models," "Convolutional Neural Networks," "Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization," "Structuring Machine Learning Projects," and "Neural Networks and Deep Learning" certificates.
