Michael Tom

Founder at Radiate

Michael Tom has a long history of work experience in the software engineering and research fields. In 2016, they founded Radiate Inc. Prior to that, they worked at Google as a Software Engineer from 2015 to 2014, and at Schrödinger as a Software Engineer from 2014 to 2012. From 2012 to 2011, they were a Researcher with the Greengard Group at New York University, and from 2011 to 2010 they were a Research Assistant with the Hoffman Lab at Harvard University Physics Department. During their time at Schrödinger, they worked on Schrodinger's Protein-Ligand Database (PLDB), a database framework that prepares and annotates proteins, allowing users to search for proteins with specific types of annotations or geometric configurations. At New York University, they worked to compute harmonic vector fields on multiply connected surfaces using integral equation methods, and created a framework that applies layer potentials to high order triangulations of arbitrary surfaces. At Harvard University, they studied supermodulation due to lead doping in superconductors, modeling surface topographies and writing image processing code in IDL. Michael also operationalized an inherited electron microscope by devising and installing electronic, vacuum, vibration isolation, and temperature control systems.

Michael Tom attended Harvard University from 2009 to 2013, earning an AB in Physics and Math with a secondary in Computer Science.
