Robert Ramsey

Robert Ramsey has extensive experience in the field of display technologies and optical engineering. Robert is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Rain Technology, where they lead a team of engineers and scientists in the production of innovative solutions for consumer display technologies. Their role involves demonstrating the capabilities of these technologies to global companies and licensing the patented IP and technology to prestigious global brands.

Prior to their current position, Ramsey worked at RealD, where they held various roles including Senior Vice President - Operations, Vice President - Consumer Devices, Optical Engineering Manager, and Senior Optical Engineer. During their time at RealD, they managed internal development projects, collaborated with key Asian supply chains for manufacturing LCD components, and worked on major brand uptake of disruptive market technologies.

Before joining RealD, Ramsey worked as a Principle Research Scientist at Agile Photonics Inc, where they conducted research in the field of photonics. Robert also worked as a Senior Optical Engineer at Meadowlark Optics, researching and developing polymer-stabilized liquid crystal materials for various applications.

Ramsey began their career as a Graduate Research Assistant at UTA Condensed Matter Group, specializing in holographic patterning techniques of liquid crystals for diffractive gratings, photonic crystals, and electro-optical sensors and devices.

Throughout their career, Ramsey has gained expertise in areas such as polymer mode liquid crystal displays, polarization control, LCD manufacture, and optical characterization methods.

Robert Ramsey obtained a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from The University of Texas at Arlington, where they studied from 2001 to 2006. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering & Physics from The University of Texas at Arlington, completing their undergraduate studies from 1997 to 2001.
