Sam Levy

Senior Scientist, Afi

Sam Levy is a Science and Policy Specialist at Rainforest Alliance, leading the Accountability Framework initiative's efforts to enhance supply chain action in non-forest ecosystems and managing regional work in Latin America. Previous roles include Science and Policy Fellow at AFi, Postdoctoral Researcher at New York University focused on conservation impacts of Indigenous Lands in Indonesia, and Doctoral Researcher at ETH Zürich studying agriculture and deforestation in tropical South America. Additional experience includes research positions with the Global Canopy Programme and Proforest, as well as project management with the Forestry Commission. Sam holds a PhD in Development Economics from ETH Zürich, a Master’s Degree from the University of Oxford, and a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Cambridge.
