Nelson Gomes is the CEO of Raízen. They previously served as CEO of Compass Gás e Energia (2020–2023) and as CEO of Comgás (2016–2020), and held leadership roles at ExxonMobil and Cosan. They contributed as Investor Relations Officer and currently serve on the board of some Cosan companies. They are a board member of Abegás and the energy division of FIESP, and participate in the IGU as a Charter Member. Their education includes a Civil Engineer degree from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná (1987–1991) and an MBA from FGV (1999–2000), along with executive programs at COPPEAD UFRJ, Thunderbird, UNC Kenan-Flagler, IMD, and Kellogg.
