Raj Comics is one of India’s most iconic comic book publishers and a pioneering force behind the nation’s indigenous superhero movement. At the core of its legacy is Mr. Sanjay Gupta — Creator of Nagraj, Doga, Bhokal, Bhediya, Parmanu, and many more Indian superheroes and co-founder of Raj Comics — whose creative vision, storytelling excellence, and editorial leadership have shaped Indian comics for over four decades.

Founded with the mission to create culturally rooted Indian superheroes, Raj Comics evolved into a creator-led storytelling institution under the guidance of Mr. Sanjay Gupta, who conceptualized expansive narrative universes and some of India’s most celebrated superhero icons, including Nagraj, Super Commando Dhruva, Doga, Bhokal, Parmanu, Tiranga, Shakti, Bhediya, and Inspector Steel. His work established a uniquely Indian superhero paradigm blending mythology, science fiction, and socio-cultural themes.

With millions of readers across India and worldwide, Raj Comics has inspired three generations of audiences aged 6 to 66. Much of this enduring impact stems from Mr. Sanjay Gupta’s role as a writer, editor, creative architect, and mentor who has supervised thousands of comic titles and nurtured hundreds of writers, artists, and creators.

Today, Raj Comics continues to stand as a legacy creative brand rooted in original IP development, culturally authentic storytelling, and transmedia expansion, guided by the lifelong creative leadership of Mr. Sanjay Gupta — one of the most loved and celebrated creator-mentors in the Indian comics and AVGC-XR community.
