Raj Thaper

Raj Thaper is an accomplished risk management and compliance professional with extensive experience across multiple sectors, including insurance and financial services. Currently serving as the Chief Risk and Compliance Officer at RAK Insurance since March 2020, Raj has been instrumental in developing a best-in-class Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Framework and enhancing the Compliance Framework. Previous roles include Director of a self-employed consultancy, where significant projects included the demerger of a major insurer and establishing risk frameworks for various organizations, including an insuretech. Raj's career also includes key positions at Allied World, KPMG Advisory, Price Waterhouse Coopers, and the Financial Services Authority, where contributions included developing Solvency II frameworks, advising on regulatory compliance, and reporting on material risks within the UK's Financial Regulation Authority. Raj holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Manufacturing Systems Engineering with Management from King's College London.
