Alex Smith

Alex Smith is a Senior Consultant and Ecologist at Ramboll Environ, with experience dating back to January 2008. Expertise includes Natural Resource Science, Spatial Ecology, Environmental Impact Assessments, and research on anthropogenic impacts. Prior to this role, Alex served as a Biologist I at Fisheries and Oceans Canada, focusing on Arctic marine mammal research and Species At Risk Assessment for beluga whales. Earlier experience at the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission involved research on endangered species, including North Atlantic right whales and Florida manatees, with roles in population viability analysis and radio-telemetry surveys. Alex holds a Master of Science in Marine Ecology from the University of Manitoba and an ADGIS in Business GIS from the Center of Geographic Science.
