Simon Kates

Simon Kates is a seasoned urban planner with 15 years of experience specializing in land use planning, architecture, economic development, and sustainability. They currently serve as a Senior Project Manager for Planning and Climate Adaptation at Ramboll and previously held the role of Associate Principal at BFJ Planning, where they managed complex projects across the New York metropolitan region. Simon has also contributed to academia as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Pratt Institute, teaching graduate students in urban planning. Their educational background includes a Master of Science in City and Regional Planning from Pratt Institute and a Master of Architecture from the University of Oregon.
