John Shinn

John Shinn is Rambus’ Senior Vice President and General Counsel. John joined Rambus in October 2016 and assumed the role of General Counsel in 2021. Prior to Rambus, John held senior legal executive roles at both private and public companies in the Silicon Valley, where he was responsible for corporate governance, compliance, intellectual property, commercial transactions, litigation and employment law. John has also worked in private practice with the law firm of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, advising high tech and emerging growth companies on technology transactions and mergers and acquisitions. John began his legal career as a litigation attorney with a boutique intellectual property and securities litigation law firm in San Jose.

John is a member of the State Bar of California and earned a Juris Doctor from Santa Clara University and his bachelor’s degree in American and European History from Stanford University.
