Random Knights is an independent AI research organization working at the intersection of AI accountability and Earth science.

We build rand0m.ai, a multi-provider AI ecosystem with agentic workflows, RAG pipelines, and a live Earth intelligence layer. Our open-source globe, xyz-earth, tracks nine planetary domains, from wildfires and air quality to ocean acidification and biodiversity, and distills them into a single Planet Health Score grounded in the planetary boundaries framework. It is fully keyless and open source, so anyone can clone it and run it offline with no accounts or private dependencies.

We also author open standards. AIEDS, the AI Energy Disclosure Standard (CC BY 4.0), defines a provider-agnostic way to disclose the environmental footprint of a single AI interaction: the real energy and carbon behind one response, reported from modeled science up to human equivalencies like Tree-Time.

Our thesis is simple. AI is accelerating climate impact while becoming one of our most powerful tools for understanding it. We build tools and standards that hold that tension honestly and in the open.
