Andy Knights is a Professor of Engineering Physics at McMaster University, where they have been a faculty member since 2003. In addition to their teaching role, they hold the position of Associate Vice-President Research, appointed in July 2021, and previously served as the Director of the McMaster Centre for Emerging Device Technologies from 2018 to 2021. Andy co-founded and led KT3 Photonics and has extensive experience as a consultant for various tech companies. Their research focuses on next-generation semiconductor materials and silicon photonics, with significant contributions to micro- and nano-devices. They earned a PhD in Experimental Solid State Physics from the University of East Anglia.
