Eric Mortaro

Eric Mortaro has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Eric started their career at SunGard Availability Services in 2004 as an Operations Technician, where they monitored customer applications and maintained operational architecture. Eric then joined CH2M HILL in 2011 as an IT Support & Operations Technician 3, where they controlled mini or mainframe computers and resolved operational problems.

In the same year, Mortaro also joined Intrado as an Information Security Officer, responsible for enhancing systems security and training new team members. In 2016, they moved to Coalfire as an Associate Security Consultant, conducting vulnerability assessments and assisting with client consultations. Eric later became a Security Consultant at Coalfire, performing penetration testing and vulnerability assessments.

Mortaro's current position is at Rapid7, where they initially served as a Senior Security Consultant, performing various testing types including network testing, web application testing, and API testing. Eric developed and maintained relationships with clients and provided consultative advice. Eric then advanced to the role of Penetration Testing Lead and is currently serving as the Manager of Penetration Testing.

Eric Mortaro has a diverse educational background with a focus on business information systems and network and system administration. Eric obtained their Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Network and System Administration/Administrator from DeVry University - Westminster in 2004. Eric then went on to earn a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree in Business Information Systems from the same institution in 2006.

In addition to their formal education, Eric Mortaro has also obtained various certifications throughout their career. Some of these certifications include GIAC Cloud Penetration Tester (GCPN) from GIAC Certifications in March 2021, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in June 2020, and GIAC Assessing and Auditing Wireless Networks (GAWN) from GIAC Certifications in June 2019. Eric also holds certifications such as Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) from Offensive Security in May 2017 and GIAC Web Application Penetration Tester (GWAPT) from GIAC Certifications in August 2015.
