Al Mackie began their work experience in 2000 as a Junior Art Director at The Good Agency. Al then worked as an Art Director at BMP DDB from 2001 to 2003 and at Harrison Troughton Wunderman from 2003 to 2005. From 2005 to 2011, they served as a Senior Art Director at Partners Andrews Aldridge. In 2011, they joined LIDA as the Head of Art and later held roles as Deputy Creative Director and Creative Director until 2015. From 2014 to 2015, they were also a Creative Director at LIDA/M&C Saatchi Group. Al then worked as an Executive Creative Director at Rapier from 2015 to 2018 before joining RAPP as the Chief Creative Officer in 2018.
Al Mackie completed a Art and Design (Foundation) Diploma in Advertising from Kingston University in 1996. From 1996 to 1999, they attended Bournemouth University, where they obtained a 2.1 degree in Creative Advertising.
