Patrick Cherry

Software Engineering Manager at Raspberry Pi Foundation

Patrick Cherry has a strong background in engineering and software development, with a focus on streamlining processes and improving stability. Patrick is currently working as a Software Engineering Manager at the Raspberry Pi Foundation since April 2020.

Prior to this, they served as the CTO at Effective Experiments from February 2019 to December 2019. In this role, they implemented continuous integration, automated deployment, and improved the overall stability of the platform.

From May 2016 to December 2018, Patrick worked at Bytemark as the Director of Engineering, where they led the engineering team, built an Agile development process, and expanded the team from 3 to 8 people. Patrick also held the role of Director of Operations from September 2014 to May 2016, and Head of Quality Assurance from September 2013 to September 2014. Prior to these roles, they worked as a Systems administrator and developer from May 2004 to September 2014.

Patrick's work experience also includes a role as a Research Assistant at The Australian National University from July 2001 to September 2001.

Patrick Cherry completed their Master of Physics degree with a specialization in Physics with study in Europe at The University of Manchester from 1998 to 2002. Patrick then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Imaging science and biomedical engineering at the same university from 2002 to 2006.
