Mitchell Block

Mitchell Block is an accomplished professional in the film and documentary industry, currently serving as an Adjunct Professor at Beijing Film Academy and the Jon Anderson Chair, Professor of Documentary Studies and Production at the University of Oregon. With extensive experience as a Content Consultant for Tencent and President of Direct Cinema Ltd., Block has been pivotal in numerous film and television projects. Additionally, as Vice President Content for Raw Science TV and President of the Carrier Project, Block continues to contribute to innovative media initiatives. A member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Block has held various leadership roles in the organization. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. coursework in Film and Television from UCLA and an MBA from Columbia Business School. Block’s work has been recognized through various accolades, including an Emmy Award for the Carrier Project.
