Derek Scott has a strong background in engineering and product development. Derek is currently serving as the Product Development Manager at RayGen since June 2020. Prior to this, they worked at General Motors as the Engineering Manager - Virtual Design, Development and Validation from October 2018 to June 2020. Before joining General Motors, Derek held various roles at RayGen, Apple, and GM Holden. At RayGen, they served as the Module Development and Production Manager from March 2018 to September 2018. At Apple, they were the Product Design - Engineering Manager from May 2015 to January 2018. At GM Holden, Derek held multiple positions including Lead Development Engineer, Design Release Engineer - Side Closures, Safety Integration Performance Team Leader, Lead Performance Engineer - Side Impact, and CAE Crash Analyst / Crashworthiness performance Engineer. Derek worked at GM Holden from December 2013 to December 2014, December 2011 to December 2013, November 2008 to December 2011, March 2006 to November 2008, and April 2002 to March 2006 respectively. Derek'sexperience at GM Holden involved responsibilities such as overseeing integration of performance attributes, design and release of vehicle components, leading safety development, and conducting crash analysis and testing.
Derek Scott attended RMIT University from 1997 to 2001, where they pursued their Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Mechanical Engineering.
