Ian Thomas

Senior R&d Engineer And Founding Memeber at RayGen

Ian Thomas has been working in the energy industry since 2003. Ian began their career as a Reservoir Evaluation Field Engineer at Schlumberger in 2003. In 2006, they joined Solar Systems Pty Ltd as an R&D Engineer, where they were responsible for the optical collector design of the world's first heliostat central receiver CPV system. In 2010, Ian joined RayGen Resources as a Senior R&D Engineer and Founding Member. At RayGen, they played a leading role in the development, design and assessment of RayGen's technology, resulting in the deployment of 1MW of demonstration solar energy plants.

Ian Thomas attended Doncaster Secondary College from 1996 to 1997, where they obtained their Victorian Certificate of Education. Ian then attended the University of Melbourne from 1998 to 2002, where they earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical & Manufacturing, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Physics.
