Chris Rayes

Chris Rayes is an experienced marketing professional with a strong background in export and logistics operations, currently serving as the Marketing Director at Rayonier since May 2006. In this role, Chris leads operations from New Zealand to markets including China, Korea, and India, overseeing a team of 13 staff and four in-market sales agents while managing third-party trading and procurement. Prior experience includes positions as Market Manager at Carter Holt Harvey Forests, where Chris managed log exports to China and oversaw an office in Shanghai, and at Silva Forest Product Ltd with similar responsibilities. Additional roles include Market Manager at Fletcher Challenge Forests, focusing on business development in Korea and managing exports to Japan, as well as at the Forestry Corporation of New Zealand, where Chris managed exports to Korea. Chris holds a Diploma in Business Studies with a focus on Personnel and Marketing from Massey University and a New Zealand Certificate in Forest Resources Production and Management from the NZ Forestry Training Centre.
