Marko Kivila

Marko Kivila is an experienced legal and operational professional currently serving as a Member of The Management Board at RB Rail AS, involved in the Rail Baltica project since November 2022. Prior to this role, Kivila was the Chief Operating Officer at Rail Baltic Estonia from August 2016 to December 2022, overseeing procurement, legal affairs, risk management, and compliance. Kivila also held positions as General Counsel and Interim CEO at Rail Baltic Estonia, managing legal matters and participating in international negotiations for a major railway initiative with an estimated investment of around 6 billion euros. Earlier experience includes serving as a Lawyer at Eesti Energia AS, handling legal affairs across various sectors, and as Head of Contract Management at Eesti Energia Tehnoloogiatoostus AS, where Kivila oversaw legal relations with contractors and clients. Kivila began a legal career as a Contract Manager at Law Office Aivar Pilv and holds a Master of Arts in Law from the University of Tartu.
