RBC Borealis
Hossein Sharifi-Noghabi is a skilled machine learning researcher with a strong background in bioinformatics and computational biology. Currently at Borealis AI since October 2022, Hossein previously worked as an AI For Life Resident at Novartis, focusing on metric learning models and conditional denoising auto-encoders for proteomics data. While at the Vancouver Prostate Centre, significant contributions were made in advanced genome analysis under the supervision of a professor. Additionally, at Simon Fraser University, diverse roles included leading research projects on drug response prediction and serving as a teaching assistant. Experience also includes administrative support at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, developing machine learning guidelines for pharmacogenomics, and collaborating with Decipher Biosciences, Inc. on a novel prediction method for prostate cancer metastasis. Hossein earned a PhD in Computer Science, specializing in bioinformatics, from Simon Fraser University, complemented by a Master's in Artificial Intelligence and a Bachelor's in Information Technology.
