John Stokes

John Stokes is an experienced professional with a diverse background in management consulting and information technology. Currently serving as a Lay Advisor at the Royal College of Emergency Medicine since January 2017, Stokes has also worked as a Consultant for the World Bank Group from May 2017 to June 2019. Previously, Stokes held the position of Head of ICT Professional Resource Management for the Metropolitan Police from July 2008 to March 2016, overseeing the ICT Resourcing function and supporting significant technology initiatives. Stokes was the Director of John Stokes and Associates from January 1990 to December 2007, where a focus on management and organization development led to work with a range of clients, emphasizing leadership and change management. Earlier career experience includes serving as Principal Consultant at Hay Management Consultants, leading a performance management practice across multiple sectors. Stokes holds an MA in Geography/Economics from the University of Cambridge, earned between 1969 and 1972.
