Maye Primera

Maye Primera is a bilingual editor, senior reporter, and multimedia producer with expertise in impactful storytelling on border issues, politics, crime, human rights, and immigration in the United States and Latin America. They have served as a correspondent for El País, enhancing their journalism skills while covering Latin America, and held various senior roles at Univision Communications Inc., where they managed cross-functional teams and cultivated an international network of contributors. Currently, Maye works as a contributing writer for El País, editorial director at El Tímpano, and associate editor at Open Campus, while also serving on the Advisory Committee for the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press. They completed an executive program in News Innovation and Leadership at Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY and are pursuing a Bachelor in Social Communication, Journalism at Universidad Central de Venezuela.
