Dennis Runner

Dennis Runner has worked in various roles in the IT industry since 2002. Dennis began their career with the Army National Guard as a 35T20, where they completed maintenance and performed periodic checks on military systems, as well as fabricating coaxial cables, fiber optic cables, twisted pair cables, Cat 5 and crossover cables. Dennis also worked with UNIX, Solaris, Windows Server and Windows XP for troubleshooting and repair, and was an Intelligence Shared Server (Solaris 8) administrator.

From 2010 to 2012, Dennis Runner was a Unix Systems Engineer and Unix System Administrator at McCallie Associates, Inc. During this time, they were responsible for requirements analysis, functional analysis, and synthesis of UNIX requirements, building hardware and software technical solutions based on information gathered from submitted requirements documents and customer interviews, developing project definitions and engineering estimates, preparing purchase requests and configuration management documentation, building UNIX/Linux servers, and ensuring security requirements were met.

From 2012 to 2013, Dennis Runner worked as a Technical Support Engineer at Nelnet Business Solutions. From 2013 to 2015, they worked as a Systems & Network Administrator at ConAgra Foods, where they installed and configured SLES 11 and OEL 6 VMs, performed P2V of Linux Servers, managed servers using remote administration tools, developed consistent technical build, implementation and support processes, upgraded and improved systems architecture, documented planning, process and procedures, and performed Level 3 OS/Hardware troubleshooting.

From 2015 to 2016, Dennis Runner was an Infrastructure Engineer at Bank of the West. From 2019 to 2020, they were a Sr. SDI Consultant at SUSE. From 2020 to present, they have been a Sr. Systems Engineer at Black Hills Energy and a Service Delivery Manager at RCH Solutions. As a Service Delivery Manager, they are responsible for leading the service delivery team, managing conflict, and ensuring the team’s processes and tasks are carried out efficiently. Dennis also determines ways to reduce costs without sacrificing customer satisfaction, assesses customer feedback and uses creativity to establish, improve, and refine service delivery services, builds partnerships, and liaises with team leaders to determine the company’s services, delivery criteria, and solutions for issues that may arise or for future engagements. Additionally, they lead personnel management, inputs and updates information on tasks, requests, and time in the team portal, documents processes and procedures in the portal, onboard new team members, ensures adequate coverage of engagements, identifies process improvement opportunities, provides guidance to the team on project deliverables, and touches points with clients to ensure timelines and deliverables are on track.

Dennis Runner obtained an Associate of Science (A.S.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Cochise College between 2007 and 2008, and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Athletic Training/Trainer from Buena Vista University between 2003 and 2007. Dennis also holds certifications from CompTIA Security + (2011), Amazon Web Services (AWS) Certified Cloud Practitioner (2022), and VMware Certified Professional 6.5 – Data Center Virtualization (2018).
