Joe Vrba

Principal Software Engineer at RDI Technologies

As a Principal Software Engineer, Joe is a senior member of the development team at RDI and spends his time creating and improving the products. He has over 40 years of software development experience covering a full range of high-speed data acquisition and analysis to create advanced knowledge-based systems. His doctorate in experimental physics and his strong mathematical background allow him to develop effective, user-friendly solutions for the most challenging problems.

Prior to joining RDI, Joe worked for almost 20 years designing and developing software for Emerson/CSI. During that time, he was involved with nearly every aspect of Emerson’s Machinery Health Manager™ tools for analysis of vibration and other elements of industrial machinery. His additional accomplishments at CSI include: designing and developing the shared software library for data plotting and analysis, the complete infrared analysis system, the high speed, high volume transient vibration data acquisition and management subsystem, and the maintenance and extension of libraries to support complex vibration analysis. Before experiencing the many accomplishments in his career, Joe had multiple successful startups that were acquired by large firms, including Westinghouse and General Electric.

Joe earned his Bachelor of Science in Physics with honors from Hiram College and his Ph.D. in Nuclear Physics from the University of Tennessee.
