Jim Longwell has over 25 years of work experience in various technology roles. Jim started their career as an Assistant Manager at VCA Travel in 1991 and later became a Manager at Excel Travel in 1995. In 1996, they worked as a System Administrator at Black Rhino Franchising.
From 1997 to 1998, Jim worked as a Sr. Lotus Notes Developer at Emerging Technology Solutions, where they were responsible for architecture, design, and implementation of custom solutions. Jim also served as a Team Lead for an IBM-sponsored Lotus Notes/DB2 integration product.
In 1999, Jim joined Lipper, A Thomson Reuters Company as a Sr. Systems Engineer. In this role, they were involved in the design, installation, and maintenance of Windows server environments, virtualization support using VMware and Hyper-V, and support for Citrix XenApp, XenDesktop, and XenServer infrastructure.
From 2013 to 2015, Jim worked as a System Administrator at Abacus Technology, where they served as a Citrix Administrator for three bureaus of the U.S. Department of Interior.
Since 2016, they have been a Citrix Engineer/Team Lead at NuAxis Innovations, continuing their administration work for the U.S. Department of Interior.
Jim Longwell attended the Community College of Aurora and earned an Associates of General Studies Degree. Jim also completed the Dale Carnegie Course on Effective Speaking and Human Relations. Additionally, from 1983 to 1986, Jim graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School. Jim has obtained certifications as a Principal Certified Lotus Professional in both Administration and Development from IBM.
