Fern Downing

Fern Downing, SPHR has over 30 years of experience in HR. Fern is currently a Senior Director of HR at ReaderLink since October 2022. Prior to that, they held the position of Director of HR at ReaderLink from November 2021 to October 2022. Fern also worked as a Regional HR Business Unit Leader at Pactiv, LLC from July 2017 to November 2021, and as an HR Business Partner at BWAY Corporation from June 2015 to July 2017. Fern has also held HR managerial positions at ASG AGI Shorewood, ACH Food Companies, ALCAN PACKAGING, PEPPERIDGE FARM INC, MFRI INC, SWEETHEART CUP COMPANY, and Continental Cablevision. Fern has extensive experience in managing HR functions, developing and implementing policies, and ensuring compliance with labor laws.

Fern Downing, SPHR, holds a Master's degree in Management and Organizational Behavior from Benedictine University, which they obtained from 1997 to 1999. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Marquette University, completing their studies from 1981 to 1988.

In addition to their formal education, Fern has also obtained certifications to enhance their skills and knowledge in the workplace. Fern completed the "Driving Workplace Happiness" certification at LinkedIn in July 2023 and the "Identify and Unleash Potential in Your Employees" certification in March 2022, also through LinkedIn.
