Walt Barnett is the Embroidery Lead at Real Thread. Walt has over 20 years of experience in the printing and embroidery industry.

Walt Barnett began their career in the printing and embroidery industry in December of 2019 with Paradies & Company. Walt worked as a Separation Artist/Embroidery Digitizer. Their responsibilities included preparing vector and high-end pre-press files for separation and film/DTS output of sample artwork for in- house screen print department of 9 automatic presses, working with press operators and other art department personnel to achieve the highest quality print possible. Walt also made requested adjustments of the separation files when necessary, and prepared the final separation files for production.

In addition, Walt Barnett prepared digitizing files for embroidery production at 36 head in-house embroidery facility. Walt coordinated and supervised workflow of contract digitizers to ensure the artwork was correct as ordered and to ensure that the digitized files would sew without avoidable thread breaks or unnecessary pushing/pulling/distortion of the embellished garment. Garment types included but were not limited to hats, pique and polyester polo shirts, zippered fleece and fleece pullovers, and towels.

Walt also prepared mockups of printed and embroidered artwork showing available or possible color and garment combinations, for use by company sales personnel and by print production personnel.

Walt Barnett is a highly skilled individual with a wealth of knowledge in the printing and embroidery industry. Walt is an asset to any company they work for.

Walt Barnett has a B.A. in International Studies from West Virginia University and an A.S. in Technical Communications from Bluefield State College. Walt also has certification from Comp Tia in Comp/TIA A+.
