Catherine Dumas, PhD, serves as an Assistant Professor and Director of the UX & Immersive Technologies Lab in the Information Sciences & Technology Department at the State University of New York at Albany since July 2023. With extensive experience in academia and professional organizations, Catherine has held roles such as Recruitment Lead at Reality Hack, Inc., and Chair of ASIS&T SIG Social Media. Prior to current positions, Catherine was an Assistant Professor at Simmons University, teaching courses in programming, data interoperability, and information visualization. Catherine's contributions to the Association for Information Science & Technology include leadership roles as a communications officer and representative in various special interest groups. Catherine earned a PhD in Information Science from the University at Albany, complemented by a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Information Science and English, respectively.
