Maarten Steur has a diverse work experience in the field of software development. Maarten started their career in 2001 at Telitas as a junior Java developer, where they developed SMS applications and web-based reporting. Maarten later became responsible for maintaining and extending the SMS platform and developing applications for TV shows. At Telitas, they also took on the role of lead developer for a new high-throughput SMS platform.
In 2008, Maarten joined TMG Global, where they played a crucial role in rolling out and further developing the previously developed SMS platform. This company later merged into CLIQ Digital in 2010.
Maarten then worked at CLIQ Digital as a Senior Java Developer, where they were responsible for the maintenance of existing applications and supporting junior developers. Maarten also worked on the setup of a continuous build environment.
Maarten joined various other companies, such as MobGen Business Solutions, Morpho B.V., First8, and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, as a Senior Java Developer, taking on responsibilities such as backend design, implementation, and continuous build environment setup.
In 2012, Maarten co-founded ThreeDee Media, where they worked as a Lead Developer and was responsible for the development of a WebGL 3D engine, a custom JavaScript user interface library, and a 3D scene editor. Maarten also managed the continuous build environment and infrastructure.
In 2015, Maarten joined Digital Leads as a Lead Developer, undertaking the responsibility of developing an SMS platform, setting up and maintaining the AWS infrastructure, and establishing the continuous delivery environment.
Lastly, in 2018, they joined Realworks BV as a Senior Java Developer.
Maarten Steur attended the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences from 1999 to 2004, where they pursued studies in the field of computer science. Prior to that, they were enrolled at the Delft University of Technology from 1998 to 1999, focusing on Electrical and Electronics Engineering. In the preceding year, from 1997 to 1998, they also studied at Delft University of Technology with a concentration in Physics.
