Jhonatan López

Jhonatan López has a range of experience in sound engineering, sound designing, and teaching. Jhonatan currently works as a Lecturer in Electroacoustics and Speaker Design at the Universidad de las Américas Ecuador. In this role, they deliver lectures, seminars, and tutorials while designing and developing courses and teaching materials. Jhonatan also contributes to professional conferences and seminars.

In addition, Jhonatan has worked as a Developer at Reason Studios, where they develop and manages sound library projects. Jhonatan has published two projects, Iktan - Custom Bass and Batas - Drum kits.

Earlier in their career, Jhonatan worked as a Sound Engineer at Acosta Producciones, recording orchestras and choirs, and serving as a Stage Manager for various festivals and concerts. Jhonatan was also a Sound Designer at Ecuavisa, editing and mixing audio, as well as recording voice-overs and incidental music. Prior to that, they gained experience as an Audio-Visual Producer and Project Manager at RoomNoise UIO and worked as a Recording and Mixing Studio Assistant at both Universidad de Las Américas and La Increible Sociedad. Finally, Jhonatan worked as a Sound Designer for Ombu Games.

Jhonatan López completed a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Sound Design from The University of Edinburgh during the period of 2019 to 2021. Prior to that, they obtained a degree in Ingenieria, specializing in Sonido y Acustica, from Universidad de Las Américas (EC) between 2009 and 2013.

In addition to their formal education, Jhonatan López has obtained several certifications. Jhonatan obtained a certification in Master Audio Synthesis and Synthesizers from LinkedIn in June 2023. In January 2023, they completed a certification in Liderazgo Docente y Educación Emprendedora from TECNOLÓGICO DE MONTERREY. Additionally, they obtained a certification in Neuroeducación from Tecnológico de Monterrey in November 2022.
