Heather Clark has a long and varied work experience. Heather began their career in 1990 as a Department of Chemistry Research Assistant at Auburn University's College of Sciences and Mathematics (COSAM). In 1993, they joined the University of Arizona Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry as a Graduate Research Associate. Her thesis pertained to the purification and physical and structural characterization of the Nitrophorin 1 Heme protein of Rhodnius Prolixus. In 1996, they took on the role of Research/Quality Manager at Baxter Healthcare, where they were responsible for research, development, and troubleshooting of problem components and instrumentation related to the Ion Selective Electrode Diagnostic technology for the Baxter Stratus II and Lytening I immunology analyzers. In the same year, they became a Researcher at Ferring Pharmaceuticals, where they were the lead scientist in developing HTS assays, Medchem screening, and secondary hit follow-up. Heather also developed GPCR ligand-binding and reporter gene assays. In 1999, they were a Project Manager at Aurora BioScience, where they managed relationships and projects associated with external drug discovery collaborations. That same year, they joined Vertex Pharmaceuticals as the Head of Program Management for Vertex San Diego and Director of R&D Program Management. In 2000, they became a Board of Directors Member at the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation San Diego Chapter. In 2021, they joined Biotech Startup Mandos Health as the VP, Head of Program Management, where they were responsible for building corporate Program Management Office (PMO) and leading Drug Development Program Management team for global Clinical Development programs. Heather was also the transaction lead for acquisition of Phase 3 asset from Mallinckrodt for a Rare Disease. In 2022, they joined ReCode Therapeutics as the VP, Program Management.
Heather Clark received their Master of Science (M.S.) in Chemistry from the University of Arizona between 1993 and 1995. Heather obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Chemistry from Auburn University between 1989 and 1993. In 1997 and 1998, they attended the University of Miami Herbert Business School for Strategic Management.
