William Weimer has worked in the field of Intellectual Property for over 35 years. William began their career in 1984 as a Product/Process Engineer and Intellectual Property Counsel at 3M Health Care. In this role, they developed products and manufacturing processes for 3M's Medical and Surgical divisions and was a named inventor on several of 3M's patents. William also advised several 3M divisions on all aspects of intellectual property law and strategy. In 1996, they moved to Imation as Intellectual Property Counsel. In 2000, they joined Faegre & Benson LLP as a Partner. In 2012, they became a Partner at Faegre Baker Daniels LLP. Most recently, in 2020, they were appointed Chief IP Counsel at Recombinetics.
William Weimer attended Mitchell Hamline School of Law from 1990 to 1994, where they earned a Doctor of Law (JD) in Law. Prior to that, they attended the University of North Dakota from 1979 to 1983, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering.
