Roger Phillips is an accomplished multimedia journalist with extensive experience in news reporting and editing. Since October 2006, Roger has served as a News Reporter for the Stockton Record, focusing on city and county government, courts, education, municipal bankruptcy, and crime, while also leading the newsroom in the use of video, social media, and other digital tools. Prior to this role, Roger worked for ANG Newspapers as a copy editor and beat writer from September 1999 to October 2006, covering sports on deadline for multiple publications including the Oakland Tribune. Roger's journalism career began at the Long Beach Press-Telegram from December 1985 to September 1999, where Roger reported and edited on the night sports copy desk, covering prominent sports teams during pivotal eras. Roger holds a Bachelor's degree and a Master’s Degree in Journalism and Broadcast Journalism from Northwestern University.
