Benjamin Zug has worked in the software engineering field since 2015. In 2015, they were a Summer Intern at the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, where they worked with JavaScript to customize a service desk ticketing system and traveled to install computers and software for employees. In 2016, they were a Software Engineering Intern at BNY Mellon, where they helped work on a web application for the global customer service desk, with front-end web development in AngularJS, HTML, and CSS, and back-end web development with Spring. In 2017, they were an Associate Software Engineer and an Software Engineering Intern at Capital One, where they worked on a DevOps team giving pipeline, infrastructure and production release support to feature teams, using tools such as the Elastic Stack (ElasticSearch, Logstach, Kibana), Docker, AWS, JMeter and Jenkins. From 2018 to 2022, they were a Senior Associate Software Engineer at Capital One, where they implemented the data fulfillment capability related to privacy data requests that leveraged an Apache Airflow pipeline on AWS ECS, collecting and compiling data from a data lake in S3 using Python, AWS Lambda, Kafka, PostgreSQL and Flyway. Currently, they are a Data Engineer at RECUR.

Benjamin Zug obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Penn State University between 2014 and 2018.
