Matt Peters

Matt Peters is the Director of Toxicology at Recursion Pharmaceuticals, where they focus on designing and implementing preclinical safety packages for oncology programs. With 23 years of experience in pharmaceutical drug discovery, including a decade as a preclinical toxicologist, Matt has developed expertise in target safety assessment and experimental design. Previously, they held significant roles at AstraZeneca, leading preclinical safety strategies and drug discovery teams, while also developing novel assays for GPCR pharmacology and assessing cardiovascular toxicity. Matt's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Physiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a postdoctoral fellowship at The Johns Hopkins University, specializing in neurodegeneration.
