Maureen Makes

Maureen Makes is an accomplished engineering leader currently serving as the VP of Engineering at Recursion since December 2021, where Maureen manages a team of approximately 70 engineers focused on developing platforms for lab systems and drug discovery research. Prior to this role, Maureen held positions such as Senior Director of Engineering and Director of Engineering at Recursion, driving initiatives for digital platform development and infrastructure strategy. Experience also includes serving as Head of Product at Lambda School, leading a product and design organization, and Director of Learner Engagement at Pluralsight, managing engineering teams to enhance learner experiences. Early career roles involved software engineering, program management, and research across multiple organizations, culminating in a Master of Business Administration from the University of Utah and a BA in Environmental Science from Colorado College.
