Nelson Batalha

Nelson Batalha is an experienced software engineer and entrepreneur currently serving as the Owner and Software Engineer at Recursive since January 2019, specializing in web application development, analytics, and machine learning. Previously, Nelson held the roles of Product Owner and Technical Lead, as well as Software Engineer at Accel from September 2019 to December 2024. Additional experience includes positions as a Senior Data Scientist at QBE Insurance from February 2017 to December 2018, and as a Data Scientist at Tictrac from September 2014 to December 2016. Early in the career, Nelson worked as a Software Engineer/Data Scientist in freelance roles, a Software Developer at Amadeus with Astek, and as a Project Engineer/Trainee at Deimos Engenharia, contributing to the SAIRPS simulator for the European Space Agency. Nelson also engaged as a part-time open-source contributor for Gentoo/Linux, implementing significant security features.
