Mazi Ukonu

Mazi Ukonu has been working in the field of waste management since 2010. Mazi began their career at South Atlantic Petroleum Limited as a Procurement/Logistics Officer for the SẐmẐ Field Redevelopment Project, where they were responsible for planning and implementing logistics and procurement services. Mazi also provided inputs to budgets and project proposals for procurement and logistics activities, and supervised material issuance and store inventory management. In 2012, they co-founded RecyclePoints, where they developed and supported operational design models for recyclable waste collection, had oversight function over the management and operational staff, and participated in public advocacy and external relations programs. In 2017, they became the President of the Recyclers Association of Nigeria (RAN). Most recently, in 2019, they began working as a Waste Auditor for AET Group Inc., where they provide field support including waste sample collection and sorting to characterize and determine garbage and recycling material composition, as well as data entry, samples analysis, report writing, and other duties assigned from time to time.

Mazi Ukonu has an educational background that includes an Executive Certificate from the MIT Sloan School of Management in Technology, Operations and Value Chain Management, a Certificate from the Lagos Business School, Pan-Atlantic University in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, a B. Eng. from Technology Jobs Update in Materials & Metallurgical Engineering, and a Senior School Certificate from Government Secondary School, Owerri in WAEC. Mazi also holds a Foundation Diploma in Purchasing and Supply from The Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply.
