Ryan Smith has extensive experience in the business and entrepreneurship world. Ryan began their career in 2013 as an Intern for Baby.com.br, where they identified dozens of Asian manufacturers and selected partners through sample sourcing, oversaw the initial stages of a project to source key US brands to begin importing and selling in Brazil, and led communication with all key Asian manufacturers, selected products, and negotiated final prices for a new clothing brand.
In 2014, Ryan became a Partner for the Campus Founders Fund, where they co-managed a $500,000 student-run investment fund with the purpose of investing in student entrepreneurial ventures in the state of Utah, attended venture capital and entrepreneur events to network with local entrepreneurs, and participated in weekly partner meetings to evaluate business pitches.
The following year, Ryan became Founder and CEO of Recyclops, where they provided specialized logistics solutions for recycling, reuse, and composting for brands nationally and provided curbside recycling in areas where recycling typically isn't available.
In 2015, Ryan took on two roles: President of the BYU Entrepreneurship Club and Regional President of the Kairos Society. As President of the BYU Entrepreneurship Club, they ran the BYU Student Entrepreneur of the Year Competition, doubled attendance at weekly meetings to 50 members, and brought in top entrepreneurs from around the state to help mentor and workshop with students. As Regional President of the Kairos Society, they worked with Kairos HQ to create a two-year strategic plan on building the Kairos Community in Utah, recruited and coordinated an executive leadership team to accomplish the two-year strategic plan, and recruited and coordinated activities of the inaugural group of Fellows.
Also in 2015, Ryan took on an Intern role for First Opinion, where they were responsible for Campus Outreach.
Finally, in 2019, Ryan became a Board Member for the Recycling Coalition of Utah.
Ryan Smith attended Brigham Young University from 2009 to 2016, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Management with a Strategy emphasis.
