James Smith is an experienced engineering professional with a strong background in software development and team leadership. Currently serving as the Head of Engineering at Red Ant since October 2013, James oversees the delivery and maintenance of software solutions while leading the engineering team's approach to hosting and tooling. Prior roles include Engineering Manager and Lead Engineer at Red Ant, where James contributed to the RetailOS platform and utilized technologies such as JavaScript and Backbone. Earlier experience includes front-end development at Precedent, junior web design at MoCo Software Solutions Ltd, and independent web design and development. James began a career in customer training as a Personal Trainer at Stomfront Retail Ltd and holds a BTEC National Diploma in Media Production from Mid-Kent College, Maidstone.
