Director Of Food Safety

Emily Thompson Weigel has extensive experience in food safety and risk management, currently serving as the Director of Food Safety and Risk Management at Red Robin International since September 2012. In this role, Emily leads initiatives in sanitation, food safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement, ensuring all employees are equipped to produce safe and wholesome food. Prior to this, Emily held the position of Quality Assurance Director at The Hillson Nut Company, Inc. and Quality Manager at Darden Restaurants, Inc., where responsibilities included supporting food safety practices and emergency situations. Additional experience includes roles as an Industrial Hygienist and Food Safety Specialist, focusing on compliance with OSHA standards and FDA regulations. Emily holds a BS in Environmental Health from Ohio University and various certifications from The Steritech Institute and Regis University, among others.
