John Karaffa

John Karaffa is a seasoned software engineering leader with extensive experience in directing software engineering, data, and operations. Currently serving as Senior Director of Software Engineering at Red Ventures since May 2018, John focuses on personalization at scale, AI-enabled checkouts, and data infrastructure modernization for major broadband clients. Prior to this, John held roles at GE Oil & Gas and GE Energy Management, where contributions included implementing a global embedded software ecosystem and managing a $30 million NPI portfolio. John's career began at GE Power & Water and Philip Morris International, engaging in embedded systems design and quality control in manufacturing. John holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Virginia Tech.
