Michael Dey

Michael Dey is a highly skilled Data Engineer with extensive experience in big data ETL processes, specializing in tools such as Spark, Scala, Databricks, Apache Airflow, and Flyway. Currently employed at Red Ventures since May 2021, Michael has led significant automation initiatives and backend optimization, including the migration to the latest Airflow version and the automation of Flyway using Docker and Terraform. Previously, at Slalom, Michael implemented a data warehouse in AWS Redshift and developed real-time data integration systems. Michael also held a Lead Data Engineer position at Baker Hughes, where RESTful APIs for market price data and cost-saving algorithms were devised. Michael's career commenced at GE Oil & Gas, contributing to projects that achieved substantial cost savings and efficiency improvements. Michael holds a Master's degree in Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, along with dual Bachelor's degrees in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.
