John Flanagan

John Flanagan has extensive experience in release engineering and tax management, currently serving as the Global Tax Lead for R&D Tax Credits and Incentives at Red Hat since March 2002. Flanagan has held various senior director roles at Red Hat, including Senior Director of Release Configuration Management, overseeing the development of all Red Hat products such as Fedora and Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Prior to Red Hat, Flanagan managed the release engineering group at Mission Critical Linux from 2000 to 2002 and led the Release Engineering team for Tru64 UNIX at Digital Equipment Corporation from 1987 to 2000. Flanagan's career began in Quality Assurance and Systems Integration Engineering at Digital Equipment Corporation. Educationally, Flanagan holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Northeastern University and attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
