John Matthews is a Software Engineering Manager and Senior Principal Software Engineer at Red Hat, where they lead a development team focused on solutions for Kubernetes and cloud computing. They joined Red Hat in 2007, after pioneering software training solutions for the Navy at Advanced Acoustic Concepts. John holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from SUNY Stony Brook, as well as an MBA focused on entrepreneurship from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where they also return to coach aspiring entrepreneurs annually. Committed to open source software, John continues to refine their technical skills while advising early-stage ventures.
