Sean McGovern is a computational scientist and engineer with extensive training in physical science and computational science. They earned a Master of Science in Physics from the University of Virginia and a Doctor of Philosophy in Computational Geosciences from the University of Bonn, where they worked on a deformable porous media model. Sean has experience as a Post-Doc in applied mathematics at INRIA/Université Côte D'Azur, focusing on fluid-structure interaction, and has contributed significantly to numerous open-source projects as a Principal Scientist. Currently, they work as a Principal Machine Learning Engineer at Red Hat and continue to offer scientific software consulting services through Gestell Labs. Eager to tackle complex cross-disciplinary challenges, Sean has cultivated an international perspective through their experiences in Oxford, Bonn, and Côte d'Azur.
